LeonaLeona Louise Lewis, born on April 3, 1985. She is an actress, singer, and activist from Britain. Born and raised within the London Borough of Islington, she was a student at her school at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis was a star on the national stage when she was crowned the winner of The X Factor's third series in the year 2006. Also, she was awarded the PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. The winning single in the contest, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's song "A Moment like This" was downloaded 50,000 times in 30 minutes . It topped the charts at number 1 for about four weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February 2007. The success of Lewis continued after the album release of her first studio album, Spirit (2007), which was certified platinum at 10x in the UK and became the fourth best-selling album of the 2000s as well as one of the most popular albums sold in UK chart record-setting. The Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the best-selling 21st century album of debut by a female. The top UK single, Bleeding Love, remained at No. #1 for seven weeks before becoming the best-selling album of 2007, as per the Official Charts Corporation. The song was also the highest-selling single sold in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the next year. In 2009, she dropped her second studio album, Echo and also composed the theme song, "I See You" from the movie Avatar. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" which was a collaboration together with Swedish DJ Avicii and also her debut extended-play, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) is Lewis' the third album of her studio. It was an innovative new style. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep as well as electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the mid-year of 2013, and she started recording material to make her first Christmas album. The album Christmas, With Love was released in the final quarter of 2013. The album's opening track One More Sleep reached the top spot across the UK. Lewis, a British female solo artist was the first artist to make it into the top five with eight songs. It was a leap over Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
