Emily Mortimer

  Emily Kathleen Anne Mortimer, born on 6 October 1971, is an American-born English actress. She began acting on stage and has been in numerous roles on film and television. She was awarded an Independent Spirit Award in 2003 for her performance in Lovely and Amazing. Mackenzie McHale, which she was a part of HBO's The Newsroom (2013-2015), is a different role that she was acclaimed for. She also wrote and directed Doll & Em (2014–2015) as well as The Pursuit of Love (2021).



 



 She voiced the character in the role of Sophie in the film Howl's Moving Castle (2004).
